Overview of Cell Division

    Asexual cell division – mitosis

    Cloning or copying of parent cell

        Exact Duplication

        Occurs throughout the body of multicellular animals, plants

            Growth, Healing/Repair of tissues, and Regeneration

Materials: Microscope, Onion, slide, and dye

Exercise: Examine the whole mount slide of onion mitosis (Cell division) and identify all stages: 

Interphase, Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, and Telophase
